Reception conditions for teachers at the French International School of Dacca

Introduction

The expatriate agents hold state civil service. They are recruited by the AEFE (for more details: http://www.aefe.fr/personnels/recrutement-des-expatries/le-contrat-dexpatrie)

Resident agents hold state civil service. They are recruited by the AEFE on the proposal of the headteachers after consultation with the local joint consultative committee (CCPL). Civil servants who have been present for at least three months in the country concerned or following their spouse or PACS partner are considered resident personnel. Also, a release and a three-month local contract are often implemented with the EFID before the actual signing of the contract with the AEFE (resident with deferred recruitment). The resident agent is then seconded by his administration of origin to the AEFE, which pays him, generally for a renewable period of three years. In the case of dual positions (both spouses are AEFE residents):

The first spouse must apply for leave. He is recruited under a local contract for the first 3 months (see paragraph 2.2),
The second spouse is seconded from September 1 because he follows his spouse (see paragraph 4). More details on the AEFE website: http://www.aefe.fr/personnels/recrutement-des-residents/le-contrat-de-resident

Agents under contract under local law may hold public office or hold a diploma qualifying them to carry out a teaching activity. They are employed directly by the establishment after having followed the recruitment procedures in force locally. All of these personnel, whatever their status, are placed under the authority of the head of the establishment for the execution of their mission at the French International School of Dacca.

Entry formalities in Bangladesh

Before your arrival in Bangladesh, you must obtain a service passport, which will be issued to you using documents provided by the AEFE. The procedures for obtaining this passport, like those for obtaining the entry visa to Bangladesh, are your responsibility. The French Embassy in Dhaka, through the school, will provide you with a “note verbale” facilitating the obtaining of the visa. https://www.visa.gov.bd/

Lodging

Accommodation (search and payment) is your responsibility for the duration of your stay. However, we will do everything we can to make it easier for you.

2.2 Resident staff

Depending on your situation, you can benefit from a resident contract from September 1, or benefit from a deferred recruitment resident position; in the latter case, you are employed by the EFID under a local contract for 3 months, before becoming a resident on the 1st day of the 4th month.

Remuneration

You are a resident with deferred recruitment (most cases): During the first three months, your remuneration is provided by the EFID, in euro currency, on the basis of the salary of a local contract. Your social protection (CFE for example) is your responsibility. From the 4th month, your remuneration is provided by the AEFE, and you benefit from the social protection linked to your status as a holder of the State civil service.

You are a resident on September 1 (already resident there for at least 3 months, spouse of an expatriate or resident):

Your remuneration is provided by the AEFE. You benefit from social protection linked to your status as a holder of the State civil service (it is nevertheless up to you to take the steps inherent to your departure abroad with your mutual insurance company)

2.3 You are considered locally recruited

If you are holders of the State civil service but you do not meet the conditions described in paragraphs 2.1 and 2.2, you are not considered as an expatriate or resident and you will therefore be recruited at the French International School of Dacca with a local law contract. In this case, you must be available to your home administration. If a resident position becomes available in your discipline, you can apply to the establishment.

You can be recruited locally without being a civil servant, if you have a diploma suitable for the position offered or previous teaching experience.

Remuneration

As an employee under local law, you will benefit from a net monthly salary of €2,300. Under certain conditions, you will benefit from an installation bonus of €1,500 which will only be fully acquired at the end of the 3rd year. Coverage of your health insurance / repatriation (compulsory) up to €100 per month is granted to you on presentation of proof.

The EFID grants a bonus of €1,000 per year for your transport.

Tuition Benefit

Staff under local contract wishing to enroll their child(ren) at the French International School of Dacca do not benefit from specific pricing conditions or an exemption from initial enrollment fees.
